Sandha Woodworks today announced the formal launch of Sandha Metalworks, a dedicated architectural metal fabrication division serving commercial construction projects across Canada.
The division has been established in response to a clear and sustained shift in commercial interior design. Contemporary architectural specifications increasingly call for assemblies in which wood and metal are not adjacent materials but a single engineered element — a reception desk with a concealed steel armature, a retail display system combining solid hardwood with blackened steel, a feature stair with integrated panelling, a transit counter with a fabricated metal service face.
Historically, these assemblies have been split between two subcontractors, with the interfaces between them managed on site. That arrangement introduces tolerance stacking, coordination risk, divided warranty responsibility and schedule exposure at precisely the point in a project where none of those can be absorbed.
Our clients were not asking for a metal supplier. They were asking for the interface between wood and metal to stop being a project risk.

Integrated Delivery Model
The operating principle of the division is integration rather than adjacency. Metal components are engineered inside the same model as the millwork they support, fabricated to the same programme, and assembled and dry-fitted with the woodwork before the assembly leaves the plant. The general contractor receives one shop drawing package, one delivery, one installation crew, one point of accountability and one warranty.
